How to Use San Diego’s Image Search Engine Tool

June 28th, 2009

 Powered by Max Banner Ads

Looking for a great research tool? Try San Diego’s image search engine. All net surfers rely on search engines to lead them to the information they seek. Sounds obvious, right? Sure, if you’re looking for info on history, you’ll type ‘history subject-topic name’. Certain subject matters are best tracked down using search engines for links to sites of interest. However, some subject matter is best researched using the image search engines. For example, Google offers an image search mode, whereby you can type in your search criteria and have the results delivered in images pertaining to that subject.

Searches using image search engines in CA can well deliver all you need to know. Let’s say you’re looking for information on climbing roses. You’ve got a bare porch rail that could do well with a few climbing roses. Using the straight information search, you’ll be bowled over with thousands of sites with information on climbing roses. It may take you quite a bit of time to sift through these sites before you hit on the one which provides images and information you can use. If you avail yourself of the image search engine results, you can quickly scan through those images and visually zero in on the perfect rose bush climber suited to your need.

A picture is, indeed, worth a thousand words. Search engines images in San Diego may produce a pic of a yellow climbing rose, magnificently meandering along a porch rail just like yours. How long do you suppose it might take to hit on that site with a straight web search? Image search engines also provide visual details you’ll never find in a text synopsis. What if you’re looking for vintage hats? A text search will produce tens of thousands of hits which will result in hours of clicking through to links which may or may not be of interest to you.

On the other hand, using ‘vintage hats feathers’, on images search engine in CA will produce specific visuals that allow you to have the ‘aha’ moment as you see the perfect feathered vintage hat, just a click away. The image search engines are of great benefit to artists. Let’s say you’re an art student, with an assignment in your composition class requiring the image of an apple. Whoa! Here’s where the image search engines excel. Use Google to do an image search on apples. You’ll turn up everything from classical art to pop art, all pertaining to apples.

A text search on apples will turn up everything you ever wanted to know about apples, including pruning, choosing, eating and serving apples, but nothing you can use in your composition. Here’s the rule of thumb. If you need information, use a text search. If visuals are all you’re interested in, use an image search. You can cut your research time in half!

Stepping Out of the Bubble: Reflections on the Pilgrimage of Counseling Therapy

July 8th, 2009

Addictive behavior in Lakeside finds a new venue: our electronic gadgets! We Americans are not alone in our zeal for the latest electronic gadgetry. People all over the world carry their electronic communication and music devices with them, literally everywhere. It’s funny that we are so used to keeping in touch, 24/7, that many of us even take them on vacation! How is it possible to relax on that beautiful beach in the Florida Keys, with dingers, bells and buzzers are going off every ten minutes? This smacks of a new style of addictive behavior.

I talked with a woman recently who said that, before she goes to work, she goes for a swim at a community pool for her daily exercise. She brings both her cell phone and blackberry – just in case! “I just can’t stand to be out of touch! It’s important that I be always accessible!” To protect her gadgetry from chlorinated water, before plunging in to the pool, she slips them in plastic zipper bags. Not wanting to be contentious, I said nothing. Silently, I wondered what might happen if a kid ran by.

Two visuals popped up. One was a crunching sound as the kid’s foot landed squarely on the instrument. The other had the kid slipping, pushing the gadget in to the pool. She’d laid the bags about four inches from the edge of the pool. I wondered how she would ever hear her gadgets crying out to be noticed. Might someone steal them? Lakeside’s addictive behaviors aspect struck me immediately, because she didn’t leave them locked in her car.

Because they were useless while she was swimming her laps, this meant that she wanted to have access the very moment she exited the pool. Sure, there are some people who, due to the nature or importance of their work, are required to be available. However, that teen over there, walking between classes, texting as she goes, probably isn’t one of them. Addictive behavior treatment in San Diego with electronic gadgets is so widespread, that some states have legislated use of, for example, cell phones. So many people were talking on cell phones as they drove down the freeways, there was a notable increase in traffic accidents.

One expert likens gadgetry addiction to alcohol addiction, pointing out that just as the alcoholic is unable to moderate their use, the gadget addict is in the same mindset. If you find yourself unable to go anywhere without your electronic friends, understand that this is overcoming addictive behavior in San Diego. You should take steps to rein in your obsession. Here are a few suggestions to help you get a handle on the problem. If it’s Saturday and you’re going to the gym for your weekly workout, leave your electronics at home. If you need to make a call, there are phone booths – remember them?

On Friday night, your work week is over. Every little thing is all wrapped up and you know your boss isn’t going to be calling you at 10pm on a work issue. Remove the battery from your electronic pal and stick it in a drawer. Another signature of electronic addictive behavior is the gal who checks every 30 seconds to see if she’s missed something. Just as with the smoker trying to quit, wean yourself slowly away from this habit. Check every fifteen minutes. See if you can make it to half an hour. Here’s another helpful thought to ponder. All addictive behaviors have the element of a master-slave relationship. Now just who is going to be the boss here?

The Angry Teenager: Why Teens Get So Angry and How Parents Can Help Them Grow Through It

July 8th, 2009

In some ways, there is nothing more disturbing than National City’s angry teen. There you are, getting along fine with your kid and then suddenly, hormones take over and everything goes downhill fast. Your kid starts to write angry poems, dresses strangely, and tries to stay out late, break the rules, and basically be difficult in every way he possibly can. Some angry teens even get more drastic than that. They can get into relationship problems, have issues with violent and self-destructive behavior, and really go off the deep end in a lot of ways.

The key to dealing with angry teens in San Diego is to realize that you were once like that yourself. The same issues that make teens angry never change. We live in a society where we are considered children long after our biology dictates that we are adults. Many angry teens are just trying to accept natural, inborn drives. They become interested in the opposite sex, attempt to to find their identity, and want to go out in the world and have more responsibility. A big part of what makes them angry is that society still sees them as children. They’re suddenly going through all these changes and can’t express their natural drives in a healthy way because our society constrains them.

When my daughter was San Diego’s angry teenagers, I initially had the same problems that many parents have. Then, I started to think about what it was like to be that age. I sat down with her and had a long talk about what she was going through, what she wanted, and what we would require as her parents. Just telling angry teens that you understand and showing them that you respect the need for more freedom can do a lot to defuse the situation. Carrying through on that can do even more. If you trust your teenager’s judgment, in general that trust will be rewarded. If you treat your teenager as a child, that teenager is more likely to be childish.

Then again, sometimes things get so bad for dealing with angry teens in National City that you really do need to get some sort of outside help. With my daughter, it was just normal teenage identity things, but a family friend had teenagers with more serious issues. Both their son and daughter were involved in unsavory relationships, using dangerous drugs like alcohol and tobacco, and in general getting into a lot of trouble. This wasn’t your normal angry teen situation. This was a dangerous situation with a lot of risky behavior. They were such angry people that they weren’t amenable to reason. They could not be talked with. They had to both go through long periods of counseling to get better.

How to Get Imperial Beach’s Teen Advice

July 9th, 2009

As a group, teens face a most difficult period in their lives. You’re going through the transition from adolescence to adulthood. On the one hand, you want to spread your wings and become more independent, exercising that good judgment your parents have been trying to nurture these many years. You reach a point where you think you’ve heard it all and don’t really want to hear any more of this sage Imperial Beach’s teen advice. Many teens simply stop listening. Parents become adversaries who are just trying to ruin a perfectly good time.

It’s been this way for many generations of teens. It’s only when you get older that you realize that maybe they weren’t quite so mistaken. The intent of this article is to give you some straight San Diego’s dating advice for teens that, while leaving you at the helm, provides you some useful backup. The best of both worlds. Here we go then, with our best five teen advice tips. We think you’ll agree that you can’t go wrong by giving these some thought.

1. Have an adult you trust to confide in. Your Mom or Dad are good candidates, despite how geeky you think they are. However, if circumstances make this impossible, there are other trustworthy adults you can talk to about issues you might not feel comfortable with, talking to Mom or Dad. Perhaps an Aunt or Uncle? A teacher, school counselor or church pastor? Scope out your possibilities and leave the sympathetic person you meet in a chat room off your list.

2. If you have issues that you’d like to discuss with a trusted adult, but aren’t ready to, do your own research, at the library or on the net. When you feel you’ve got a handle on the pros and cons of the issue, present the evidence and then talk! Believe that your trusted adult confidante will treat you with respect. A trustworthy adult will give you the benefit of their experience, not a lecture.

3. You know that this bit of fashion advice for teens in San Diego has been worn out, but is nonetheless legitimate. Understand the dangers of drugs and alcohol. You know that both are readily available, so much so that any mention from parents evokes a rolling of your eyes towards heaven. The street drugs at your disposal today are literally poison. You don’t need to make your research public. Just get online and search out the info on what goes into some of these drugs and see what the consequences are, in real life. It’s truly scary. After you’ve done your own research, you may not even need to consult an adult to reach your own conclusions.

4. You’ve surely heard of peer pressure. This occurs when a teen is lacking in confidence to be an individual, a leader rather than a follower. Your parents, chastising you for some behavior, might have told you, “If your friend decides to jump off a bridge, does that mean you should also?” It’s true. This bit of love advice for teens in Imperial Beach warrants your considered opinion. You are an individual and are free to choose your own path. Develop your own self confidence. You don’t need to demonstrate courage or daring by giving in to ‘group think’. Don’t become a victim!

5. Here’s the last bit of teen advice I have to offer. Understand the value of education. Without education, you face a life of poverty, moving from one unrewarding job to another. Do whatever you must to further your skills. Take your own life in your hands. Take this teen advice to heart. Live your life, heartily!

Why is there Rampant Teen Lying in Mission Beach?

July 9th, 2009

The first time I ever caught my teen lying in Mission Beach, I was absolutely shocked. My teenage girl had never lied to me before, and I hated to think she was changing so drastically. When she was growing up, she was one of the sweetest, most obedient children you could ever hope to have. She never disobeyed me, talked back to me, had a tantrum, or even questioned what I told her to do. I never expected to catch my teenage girl lying – particularly so brazenly.

I caught her in a fib when she stayed out too late. Rather than call me or apologize for losing track of time, she made up some story about a car accident. Needless to say, it was pretty unconvincing and when I checked into it, the thing she said didn’t add up. I was furious at her, but instead of apologizing she ran to her room and slammed the door. At the time, I didn’t know anything about Mission Beach’s teenage lying, and I thought something must be terribly wrong.

Was she dealing with teenage drug abuse, or perhaps suicidal depression? My mind started racing. I knew that, to abuse my trust like that, something must be terribly wrong with her. I searched my soul, searched her room, and in general took everything out of proportion in response to San Diego’s teenagers lying. What I didn’t realize at the time dawned on me a couple weeks later: I was overreacting. Most people assume the worst when they confront teenage problem behaviors, but in reality what they are dealing with is a child who is growing up.

Teens are suddenly getting to the age where they want to assert their own individual identities, and to do that they often rebel against their parents. I punished her for lying to me by grounding her for a week, but when that was done I decided to let it go. She earned a punishment for teenager lying in San Diego, apologized to me, and we dropped the matter at that point. I knew that I might have to deal with more bad teenage behaviors in the future – perhaps even with teen lying again – but I also knew that I could take it. There was nothing more to my teen lying than met the eye.

She wanted to do what she wanted without consequences. She needed to learn that there were consequences, but I needed to learn that teenagers will sometimes act up and that is important to keep things in perspective. If you have had trouble with lying teens before, I urge you to keep your cool. Treat them with a moderate hand. Punish them and let them know that it isn’t okay to lie to you, but don’t necessarily start digging for deeper problems. Unless your kid suddenly becomes out of control, teenage lying is probably just a phase. Voicing your disapproval and maintaining your rules is probably enough.

Tecate’s Drug Addiction and Coping Up

July 10th, 2009

If you have never had to deal with drug addicts before, the first time you do can be very scary. Tecate’s drug addiction is something that is hard to understand until you have seen it up close. After all, addiction to drugs – or anything for that matter – involves a rapid and drastic transformation of personality. Drug addicts are so driven by their craving that they can be almost unrecognizable to former friends. They can look unhealthy, spew out paranoid rants, have trouble thinking or concentrating, and stab people they normally would care about in the back. It is an ugly thing to see a friend you used to care about turn into a drug addict.

A lot of people say that becoming addicted to drugs doesn’t happen overnight, but sometimes it does. Drug addiction help in Tecate can be a sudden or a gradual transformation. Sometimes, it takes people years to get involved in the drug. They start with gateway drugs like nicotine and alcohol, then move on to harder stuff. This doesn’t always lead to substance abuse, but it can. Very few people can handle really hard drugs without becoming addicted, and those who can often face other problems. They often end up as the victims of law enforcement or gangs, ending up in jail or dead.

This is why, if you suspect a friend is a drug addict, it is important to get him or her help. San Diego’s drug addiction recovery treatment facilities are widespread and easy to gain admission to. A lot of former drug addicts talk about the fact that at a crucial point in their life, someone came around and saved them. Although doing drug addiction treatment in San Diego can be difficult, it is a lot better than the alternative. Your friend may give you grief while addicted to drugs, but once he or she is able to pull through, you’ll definitely earn his or her gratitude. In the long term it is both better for your friend and better for your friendship

At the same time, it is important to not get drawn in too far. Drug addicts can often become very manipulative in their pursuit of a fix, and you need to be able to spot this manipulative behavior. Don’t let a drug addict walk all over you. Don’t do anything to enable his habit. Don’t shelter him so that he can get high in your house while not paying rent. Sometimes the best love is tough love. No matter how much it hurts, you have to do the right thing.

Solana Beach’s Hypnosis to Quit Smoking: How to End the Addiction

July 12th, 2009

I was raised in a pretty conservative family setting, so I was always a little bit suspicious of hypnotists. Nonetheless, I knew that my suspicion was mostly a superstition. People tend to be scared of things they don’t understand, and even pretty smart educated people are no different. When I was trying to stop smoking, I thought it might be an excellent time to try out hypnotism. Getting hypnosis to quit smoking would not cost a lot, I figured, and it would let me get rid of my addiction with very little work. If it didn’t work, I could always try something else. All in all, it seemed like I had nothing to lose.

The interesting thing about Solana Beach’s hypnosis to quit smoking – or any other addiction hypnosis for that matter – is that it works mostly because people believe in it. Being hypnotized does not stop your body from physically craving nicotine, and it doesn’t stop you from having positive associations with it. The key is that, when you are under hypnosis, you believe that you will is not your own. If the hypnotist tells you that you no longer like to smoke, you will unconsciously decided to play along rather than contradict what he is saying. It’s kind of a silly system my opinion, but it really does work.

The hypnotist explain all of this to me the first day. It was funny to me that going into my self hypnosis to quit smoking in Solana Beach, he would tell me that hypnosis was not real, but he explained that it helped put people at ease. People have so many superstitious beliefs about the power of hypnotism that sometimes he runs into tough cases who are sort of afraid to go under. By explaining how he does hypnosis to stop smoking, he is able to establish a more even, cooperative relationship with his patients. This makes them feel more comfortable with him, which in turn makes them better hypnotic subjects.

I had assumed that being hypnotized meant that you always forgot what happened, but apparently this is not the case. His San Diego’s using hypnosis to quit smoking started with a standard induction where he made me feel sleepy so that I was unable to open my eyes. I was still aware of what was going on, but somehow I just didn’t feel like moving. I remembered everything – that induction, the suggestions he gave me to quit craving cigarettes, and the process of waking up. Yet even though I remembered it, it still worked on me. Since then, I haven’t craved another cigarette. I don’t know if it works for everyone, but It certainly worked well for me. If you are trying to give up cigarettes, how to quit smoking with hypnosis in San Diego really is worth trying.

San Diego’s Residential Drug Treatment Center: Finding the Best One in Town

July 12th, 2009

Depending on the severity of the drug or alcohol problem, there are a variety of treatment options out there that could work very well. When trying to overcome these problems, it is important to make the most of your choices, and get into the right program for the highest instance of success. Some have to go through rehab quite a few times before it works, but it is always worth the effort. Some choose to go to San Diego’s residential drug treatment center when they feel that need more structured help with their problems.

Some with dependency issues can do outpatient rehab. This would be ideal for everyone, but is not always the right answer. What can happen is those with severe problems can slip very easily with this as they have freedom to go about their life after treatment each day or however often they go each week. When they have that freedom, things happen. If this does not work out, many will move on to residential drug treatment centers in Del Mar to make sure they do not have those temptations anywhere near them.

If someone has been in trouble with the law, they may have no choice but to go to Del Mar’s residential treatment center, as it can be a part of their sentence. At times, they can avoid jail if they complete the program. You may see that there are a lot of teenagers and young adults that are going through programs at residential treatment centers because they have had problems. Judges usually know when they are dealing with someone who would not have broken the law if they were not under the influence of something like drugs and/or alcohol.

What is special about residential treatment centers in San Diego is that they are so strict. That does not sound like a lot of fun, but there is nothing fun about rehab. You have to remember that you are doing this to get your life back, and that is not always an easy thing. Drugs and alcohol alter the brain, making you someone you never would have been – and that is never a good thing. When you go through programs at residential treatment centers, the strict rules are going to be of great benefit to you, even though it might not seem like it at the time.

What can be hard about residential treatment centers is that some are better than others. If you are going to one because you have committed a crime, you may not have any choice of where you are going to go. Not all are created equal. This means you could have some huge problems. What you want to do, if you are in residential treatment centers that are not to your liking, is to deal with it as best as you can. If you mess up, you could end up in jail. Do what they want you to do, follow each rule (even if you think it is silly), and do your best to get better.
